Michael Landis loves to tell stories and talk about trains.  He’s an award-winning broadcast journalist with more than 15 years of experience writing and presenting for television, radio, web, and newspaper.

Over the years, Mike has received several honors for his work, including the prestigious Edward D. Murrow Award, and two nominations for regional Emmy awards. He has also been recognized multiple times by the Missouri Broadcasters Association and Kansas City Press Club.

Mike's independent documentary film credits include writing and producing Phenix: The Life and Legacy of a Town Lost, The Final Ride of Frisco 4524, and Springfield, MO: Crossroads of the BNSF.

If he's not out chasing news, you'll likely find Mike chasing and trains, or reading and writing about them. While he pretty much enjoys anything that rides on rails, his favorite railroads of days-gone-by include the Santa Fe, Burlington Northern, and Missouri-Kansas-Texas.

Michael lives with his family near Springfield, Missouri.
